A fun week. . .

I always worry that I don't do enough fun things that Caylin enjoys (especially during the winter!). I mean, seriously, playing at home and trips to Target aren't exactly activities that most toddlers get very excited about day after day! This week, I think I managed to pack some interesting adventures in for Caylin, and I guess it helped a little that the weather picked up just a bit. On Tuesday, Grandma Jill called and invited Caylin and I to go to the park with them for cousins' day. Caylin loved the swing, and threw a tantrum when I had to take her out. I can't wait for Spring when we can go all the time to the park!

Wednesday I took Caylin to the library, and she stayed forever just reading new books. I really need to take her more often because she loves it there, but she also loves having new books around at home. I got her some Charlie and Lola books, and she can't get enough of them!
Yesterday we went with Jess and Tessa to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point. It was fun to go someplace new, and it was so good to see them again! Thanks again Jess!
playing in the water (can I just point out that Caylin's little apron almost dragged on the ground and she kept tripping over it!)

this is about the most she really played in there, because then she found the little tunnel for the kids to get in and out of, and she kept sliding down it like a slide
Tessa wouldn't go too close to the enormous shark
but I couldn't get Caylin away - I couldn't believe how big it was!

Today we went swimming at the Lion's Club with Tyson, Mel, Heather and her kids. Caylin had a blast in the water. This morning as I was getting ready to go Caylin went into her bedroom. When I went looking for her, I found that she had opened her dresser drawer and pulled out everything. I just figured it was another mess to clean up. A little while later we were talking to my dad on the phone and I told Caylin to tell him we were going swimming. She then said,"I can't find my swimsuit." Then it dawned on me that she pulled all her clothes out looking for her swimsuit. I guess she was pretty anxious to go!
I just had to add this one in - yes, that is me at 13 weeks. I really sorta "popped" the last week or so, and I am shocked at how big I am already. I know I was huge with Caylin, so it will be interesting to see how this one ends up!

Hello Somebody

Yesterday I had Caylin with me in Relief Society (all of a sudden she is a real stinker about Nursery, but that's another story) and she was playing with her little friend Tessa (who feels the same way about Nursery). Caylin pulled her little play phone out of her purse and said "Oh, let me call somebody real quick." Then she pretended to dial a number and said," Hello somebody. Are you there?" I was trying so hard not to bust out laughing!

Happy Balentine's Day!

Happy Balentine's Day (as Caylin says it)! It was so much fun this year with Caylin; she really got into it. She got "Lightning McQueen" Valentine's to decorate and hand out, and she did a pretty good job of coloring them.

This is the Valentine's box I made for my mom. It is tradition in my family to have a Valentine's box at dinner with prizes inside.

I decided I needed to make a box for myself for our own little tradition and I was pretty happy with the way it turned out.

Caylin got a princess music book, a princess wand, princess stickers, and a box of animal crackers.

It looks like Colby may have been a little jealous!

After dinner we decorated cookies. Caylin actually did manage to get candy on the first one she decorated, but after that, it was a contest to see how much candy she could shovel in her mouth before we took it away.

A new little prince or princess

So, my little princess is going to have a little princess or prince to follow her around! I'm only ten weeks, but the baby will come in early September! I can't say that I'm looking forward to being huge in the hottest part of the summer, but we are so excited!

My Little Princess

Lately Caylin has been my little princess; really getting into the "girly" stuff. I love it because for so long all she really cared about was trucks, tractors, and watching sports with daddy. The other day we went on a hunt to find a princess crown for her and I was so happy to find this little number from Target, complete with the necklace, earrings and ring (she even completes the theme with her princess fruit snacks)! She is so funny with it and loves it!
So did anyone else know that Tuesday nights at Baskin Robbins is $1 kiddie scoop night? I was in heaven when I figured this one out (especially since I've been craving ice cream lately)! I tutor on Tuesday nights, so when I left, I told Caylin that if she was good I would bring her some ice cream home. I called when I was done, and she answered the phone with "Hi mommy! Mommy, you bringing ice cream?!" My mom said that she had been patiently waiting all night for her ice cream, so I rewarded her with some chocolate chip. She was so excited and I think this just might become a tradition! This is the face she gave me when I told her to say "Cheese"! I love it!
