Caylin's Birthday Parties

After more than three hours of reading instructions and turning screws, I don't know who was more excited for Caylin to see her new kitchen, me or Colby! She was with me when I bought it, and she had been asking about it for two weeks. She got so excited when she saw it!
Sunday night we had a little cupcake party. My family, Colby's parents, my grandparents and my aunt came over to celebrate. Look how cute that apron is that mimi made to go with her kitchen!

This is at her "princess party" the next day at Grandma Jill and Papa Fred's house.
she got a remote control Lightning McQueen, and she is still scared to death of it, even when she drives it, so she has to be sure that it can't get her!

We say Holy Cow!

A few weeks ago, Caylin kept repeating something, and I didn't want to pay too much attention to her because I was afraid of what she was really saying. When I asked her to repeat it finally, I concluded that she kept saying "Holy Sh*@!" I couldn't help but laugh, and then quickly told her we didn't say that, that we say "Holy Cow!" instead. For a couple of days she told us over and over "We say Holy Cow, we don't say Holy Sh*@!" Luckily she has gotten over it for the most part, but every once in a while she reminds me what we do and don't say.

Happy Birthday Caylin!!!

Happy Birthday my little princess! I can't believe that you are two years old! You are such a little firecracker and I really don't know what I would do without you. You are so sweet and sensitive, but very independent and sassy at the same time. I love watching you dance and sing and read your books and learn new things every day. You are so smart and beautiful and I am so proud of you and proud to be your mommy. Thanks for making me laugh and keeping me on my toes and for just being you! I love you so much and hope you have the best birthday!

St. George

This past weekend the three of us got a much needed vacation to good old St. George. It was so much fun and I am so glad that Colby was able to get a good break. The first morning we walked to a little park and found the slowest slides in the entire world (I'm not kidding - I was laughing so hard!). I guess it's good they were so slow because Caylin has had a phobia of them for the past little while, but she was lovin' these ones!

daddy even went on the slide

we blew bubbles, and Caylin kept running off and chasing the ones that flew away yelling "No bubbles! No bubbles!"

the second day we took Taryn and Shawna to the park with us - these two were hilarious together

during one of our shopping trips we ventured over to Dollar Tree and Colby was so excited to find a pack of two, yes two kites for only$1. That should have given it away right there that they probably wouldn't do much, but he had to try anyway. The only thing it did was spin around and around before taking a serious nose dive.

Caylin was still convinced that maybe if she threw it it still might fly (I know what you're thinking, that is the sweetest kite I have ever seen!)
It was so nice to getaway just the three of us, and I am so glad we got the opportunity. We had so much fun, but of course it didn't last long enough!
